Former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh honored S. Gurmeet Singh Kular with Jewels of Punjab Award.

S. Gurmeet Singh Kular was awarded with ‘Jewels of Punjab’ Award at a ceremony held in Delhi on 20 December 2019. The award was presented by the Honorable Former Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh.

Kular is the President of Federation of Industrial and Commercial Organization (FICO), Secretary General Baba Vishwakarma Engineering & Technology Centre; and is into the business of manufacturing and export of bicycle parts.

Gurmeet Singh Kular said, ““A grand event marking the global celebrations of the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev was held on 20 December 2019. The former Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh was the Chief Guest on the occasion. He also launched an exclusive coffee-table book that has autobiographies of influential Punjabis. The book will feature 75 Punjabi Personalities like JS Khehar, the first Sikh Chief Justice of India, Captain Amarinder Singh Chief Minister Punjab, Tan Dhesi, the first Sikh MP from the UK, Daler Mehndi, King of Bhangra, Fauja Singh, the world’s oldest Marathon runner alongside other personalities from 19 countries.” 

The guests of honour list besides the Chief Guest, Dr Manmohan Singh, included Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi (Sports and NRI minister of Punjab) and Padma Shri V. S. Sahney (President of World Punjabi Organization) besides others.
